I'm back!

Somehow, not really sure how actually, I'm out of this rut. Maybe it's because I haven't had to abide by the regular school schedule and now feel like I can actually get stuff done and live life too. Anyhow...
Today I woke up and was really excited because I woke up and new exactly what I wanted to do with this blog! Last night I went to my grandmother's house and had a virtual garage sale going through my grandfather's things. She wanted me to try on his cowboy boots because she didn't want to give them to just anyone and she thought I might fit... and I did! Then she thought there were some other things I might like of his so we went out to the garage and I found a really cool bag!

I'll be back on later to start updating with pictures of the daily outfits, finds, and inspiration!

Caffeination

I'm getting a little frustrated. I really am stuck in a rut. This past week has been nothing but get up early work all day, stay up late, get nothing done, wake up later than anticipated but still early, repeat. I have found nothing too inspirational, or should I say motivational, to break the cycle, and I know that I need to, but I'm so stuck in this constant sleep deprived coffee driven haze that I can't seem to get anything I want, or need to get done, done. So I guess my post today is going to be coffee fueled, just like my life. I think it's pretty and invigorating like coffee usually is to me. But like I said... something's up, and so am I.

A Present for the Music Lover

I have recently started a collage wall in my room consisting of all black and white prints in black frames,a shadow box, and and cream colored storage boxes from IKEA. Most of the prints thus far are from IKEA's posters and are shots of Paris, but I also have a huge floral print which I actually bought from a going-out-of-business sale at Mervyn's for $5 because it was an old Levi's ad. Since then I've removed all mentions of the famous jeans and placed in the magazine advertisements which actually inspired my room. They are all pictures of women in black haute couture in the middle of a desert, which inspired the Mexico& France feel to my room, and also because those are my two favorite countries because of their style. Lately I've been feeling like I need to add on so I added the shadow box which contains all of the wristbands from the shows I've attended and the CD that was a present from a popular band I'm friends with, but this still didn't feel like enough. Until I stumbled upon this, the perfect print for my wall. I loved it so much I even purchased one for my best friend as a surprise present. (Sorry if I just ruined the surprise! I know you'll still love it though). I love all of the prints in this Etsy store! I'm hoping one of these days hijirik will print another favorite poster of mine, the "Live what you love", in purple. Then I think I'll be done with my wall.

Taking inspiration in

I was listening to a cover by Brack Cantrell of "Brand New Colony" and thinking about how I'm really excited to feel like I'm finally starting to have a real life. I'll be moving to New York which I'm so ecstatic about because I've never lived anywhere but Texas. For once I'll be able to wear a jacket, not need a car, and dream of being kissed in the snow. The only downside... I've always dreamed of living in a place with a fire escape. I don't know why, I just always thought they were cool. Maybe it's from watching too many movies about NYC and plays like the Glass Menagerie. Anyway, today I was contemplating my move to a different scene and daydreaming about my one day fire escape when I hear this song about the same time I found this artwork. I think it's a sign.
"I'll be the fire escape that's bolted to the ancient brick/ Where you will sit and contemplate your day."

And so it begins...

I've been thinking about how to somewhat reinvent myself as I get ready to graduate and head off to college, and I've found the first couple of ways.
First off, I've decided to take this blog and make it my everything style and music blog while I start making Chance&Happenstance my blog devoted to my day to day life and personal style stuff. Feel free to check it out, but as far as all of my creative energy is going to go, it'll be focused primarily on Style&Stigma. Can you figure out the pun?
Now, I'm really excited because I've already started establishing my college-self style. I've started new hobbies, doing arts and crafts, making jewelry, and drawing and painting. So basically everything creative, except for sewing, I'm still working on that one.
I've got the beginnings of my bedding, all I need are some sheets and coral and apple green blankets. Plus I just bought this amazing book

And, I've been able to start spending my free time shopping and finding new pieces that I absolutely adore. Like:

I'm thinking about going out and buying some shrink plastic now to make a bunch for me and a few as presents for friends.
